Paul F. Flotron

Paul F. Flotron w/ Marian Brickner & Dr. Doug Pernikoff

"Animal Adventures with Paul Flotron"

Fridays @ 4:00 PM!

As a boy in San Antonio, Paul Flotron helped his family raise miniature schnauzers. He was there for the dogs’ births, and his family showed the dogs at competitions all over Texas. When he was 10, his family moved to St. Louis, where he accumulated “the Flotron Miniature Zoo,” including “dwarf crocodiles, African pancake tortoises, birds, boa constrictors, hermit crabs, fish, and always dogs.” Paul graduated from Webster University with a degree in international studies/business management and for 20 years careers involving export/import, sales and marketing. Today, Mr. Flotron runs Creature Comforts Great and Small, a St. Louis pet-care business, and leads Noah’s Ark, a pet ministry of Grace Church, a large nondenominational Protestant congregation. Noah’s Ark runs a pet-food drive, supports a no-kill rescue, brings pets to visit the sick and infirm, and hosts a grief group for those who have lost a pet. Animals and pets have been a passion of mine since I was a young child. My experiences while growing up include showing and breeding dogs along with having a "miniature zoo" caring for a variety of animals. Establishing such close relationships with animals while caring for them since childhood has had an indelible impression on me. Spanning over 14 years, I have been involved in pet therapy. Visiting residents in long term care facilities, students in a school setting and reaching out to those in need with animals has been extremely rewarding. Establishing and leading Noah's Ark Animal Lovers Group at church has been quite fulfilling as well. It is exciting to witness the growth and evolution occuring in our pet therapy area and animal rescue initiatives. Resulting from enjoying so much growth, pet therapy and animal rescue are now integrated into Creature Comforts’ community outreach program.

"The Empowerment Network'

"Closing The Gap on Prostate Cancer in our Community"

Mellve Shahid begged for his life, on his knees, humbled… “I didn’t ask God; I begged God that if He spared my life from this prostate cancer, I’d spend my life in service to fighting it.” Four years later, all the signs say God and Shahid kept their promises. We started out at kitchen tables, on living-room floors and street corners with a few survivors and no resources. Today, more than 200 survivors, supporters and families participate in “The Empowerment Network” Movement… We are a multicultural organization: “Prostate cancer doesn’t discriminate, it eliminates.” Join us every Friday at 5pm on WGNU to become educated and to actively participate in the sharing of information that can aid and assist in all of us and our loved ones.
